Notes

Stealth Notes is a fast on-device notes app with text and checklist note types, color-coded categories, optional per-note encryption, and cross-device sync across Android, Windows, and iOS through Account Sync. Open it from the VPN home screen: tap More, then Notes.

Quick Start

1
Open Stealth Tools

Tap More on the VPN home screen tool bar

2
Open Notes

Select Notes from the tools sheet

3
Browse synced notes

Windows and iOS notes show platform badges. Local Android notes appear without a badge.

4
Add a note

Tap the + button. Type a title and body, then tap Save.

Stealth Text

Stealth Text is also configured from App Settings. Enable it under Features, then use the floating wand in any text field to proofread spelling and grammar with AI.

Note Types

  • Text notes. Plain text body with title.
  • Checklist notes. A title plus a list of checkable items. Tick items off as you go; the editor tracks them as a checklist instead of a text body.

Organizing

  • Categories. Flat list of named, color-coded, icon-tagged categories. Each note can belong to one category. Categories are created and renamed from the Notes screen.
  • Pin. Pin a note so it stays at the top of the list.
  • Archive. Hide a note from the main list without deleting it. Toggle "Show archived" to bring archived notes back into view.
  • Color tags. Tag any note with a color (purple, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, pink, gray) for quick visual sorting.

List Views & Sorting

Switch the main list between four view styles:

  • List — standard line-by-line
  • Compact — titles only
  • Grid — tile grid
  • Cards — default; full preview cards

Sort by Last Modified (default), Date Created, Title, or Color. The "Pinned first" toggle keeps pinned notes at the top regardless of the sort.

Search

Search runs across note titles and bodies and can be narrowed by category. Tap a category chip to filter the search to just that category.

Encryption

Encryption is per-note and opt-in: tap the lock icon in the editor to mark a note as encrypted.

  • The note body is encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key generated and stored in the Android Keystore (alias stealth_notes_key). The key never leaves the secure key store and is unwrapped by hardware where available.
  • You can also set a notes password in Settings. When set, opening any encrypted note prompts for the password (or biometric unlock if enabled). The password is stored as a SHA-256 hash, never as plain text.
  • Unencrypted notes are stored as plain JSON in app-private storage.

Backup

  • JSON export / import. Export all notes and categories to a JSON file you can save anywhere. Import re-merges by note ID so duplicates are not created.
  • Google Drive. Optional one-tap backup and restore to your own Google Drive app folder. Auto-sync can be turned on so changes upload in the background after each save.

Sharing Into Notes

Stealth Notes is registered as a Share target. From any other Android app, share text or a snippet to Stealth Notes and it lands as a new text note.

Why Use Stealth Notes

Hardware-backed encryption when you want it. Mark only the notes that matter as encrypted instead of forcing the whole app behind a password.

Two note types. Use checklists for grocery lists and to-dos without leaving the app.

Drive backup, not lock-in. Restore from your own Google Drive or import a JSON export anywhere.
