Stealth Text

Stealth Text is a system-wide AI proofreading and rewrite tool. A floating wand appears next to whichever text field you are typing in. Tap it and Stealth reads the field, fixes spelling and grammar, optionally rewrites it more formally, and replaces the text in place. Enable it from App Settings under Features.

Quick Start

1
Open App Settings

Tap the gear icon on the VPN home screen footer

2
Enable Stealth Text

Turn on Stealth Text under Features

3
Type in any app

Focus a text field in messages, email, social, or browser forms

4
Tap the wand

Stealth Text proofreads the field and replaces it with corrected text

How It Works

Stealth Text rides on Android's Accessibility API. When you focus a text field, the Stealth Text accessibility service detects it and (if Auto-show is on) draws a small floating button over the field. Tap the button to send the current field contents to Stealth's AI proofreading endpoint. The corrected text comes back, and the service writes it directly into the same field.

If you do not want the button on every field, turn off Auto-show and trigger a one-shot correction from the Stealth Text process action instead.

Setup

1
Open Stealth Text

From the Stealth tools drawer, open Stealth Text. The setup screen explains the two permissions it needs.

2
Grant the Accessibility Service

Tap Grant and enable Stealth Text in the Android Accessibility settings list. This is what lets the service see the text field you are focused on and write the corrected text back.

3
Grant Display Over Other Apps

Required to draw the floating proofread button over text fields in other apps.

4
Toggle Stealth Text on

The master switch on the setup screen turns the floating button on or off without revoking the system permissions.

Correction Options

Each option below is an independent toggle. They are combined into the prompt sent with your text:

  • Fix spelling. Catches and corrects spelling errors. On by default.
  • Fix grammar. Corrects grammar and punctuation. On by default.
  • Keep slang. Tells the model to leave casual slang and informal expressions intact instead of "cleaning them up". On by default.
  • Formal mode. Rewrites the text in a more formal, professional tone. Off by default. Useful for work email and applications.
  • Auto-show button. Draws the floating button automatically next to focused text fields. Turn off to only invoke proofreading on demand.

Language Detection

Stealth Text reads your device's current locale and tells the model to respond in the same language as the input. If your phone is set to Spanish, your Spanish text gets Spanish corrections. The locale, language code, and country are all sent with the request.

Limits & Triggers

Minimum length5 characters. Anything shorter is skipped.
Maximum length5,000 characters per request.
Connect timeout30 seconds.
Read timeout60 seconds.

What the Result Looks Like

The service returns the corrected text plus a list of individual changes (each with the original snippet, the replacement, and a short reason). The text is written into the focused field. If nothing needed fixing, the field is left alone.

Privacy

Text is sent to Stealth's proofreading endpoint over HTTPS only when you tap the button (or invoke the process action). Stealth Text does not stream every keystroke, does not capture text from fields you do not interact with, and does not run in the background unless the accessibility service is enabled.

Why Use Stealth Text

Works in any app. One proofreader for messages, email, social, browser forms, search bars - anywhere you can type.

Formal mode for work writing. Rewrite a casual draft into something you can send to a manager or client.

Language-aware. Honors your device locale instead of forcing English corrections on non-English text.
