Overview
Stealth Browse includes a built-in file malware scanner that automatically checks downloaded files before you open them. This protects against malicious APKs, infected documents, and other threats.

Block connections to known malware domains using real-time threat intelligence.

Scan Downloads for Malware
Automatically scan every downloaded file.
- Default: On
- Scans: APKs, ZIPs, PDFs, documents, scripts
- Method: Hash-based detection + heuristic analysis
- Speed: Typically under 2 seconds per file
Show Scan Result Popup
Display a notification when scans complete.
- Default: On
- Shows: Scan result (clean/threat detected)
- Actions: Open file, delete file, view details

Threat Detected
Malware or suspicious content found:
- Threat type: Virus, trojan, adware, PUP, etc.
- Recommended action: Delete the file
- Options: Delete, quarantine, or ignore (at your own risk)
Unknown
File couldn't be scanned (encrypted, corrupted, or unsupported format):
- Proceed with caution
- Consider scanning with desktop antivirus

Limitations
Not a replacement for antivirus: While effective, the built-in scanner is optimized for speed and common threats. For maximum protection, use a dedicated Android antivirus app alongside Stealth Browse.
- Zero-day threats may not be detected immediately
- Password-protected archives cannot be scanned
- Very large files may timeout
- Offline scanning is limited
Recommendations
- Keep scan enabled - minimal performance impact
- Don't install APKs from unknown sources - even if scan is clean
- Delete flagged files immediately - don't "ignore" threats
- Update Stealth Browse regularly - threat lists are updated with app updates
