Network & DNS
Configure DNS settings for faster, more private, and more secure browsing.
Overview
DNS (Domain Name System) translates website names into IP addresses. By default, your ISP handles DNS, but Stealth Browse lets you use privacy-focused DNS providers that don't log your queries.
DNS Provider
Choose which DNS server resolves your domain lookups:
- System (Default): Use your device/network's DNS settings
- Cloudflare: 1.1.1.1 - Fast, privacy-focused
- Google: 8.8.8.8 - Reliable, widely used
- Quad9: 9.9.9.9 - Security-focused, blocks malware domains
- AdGuard: 94.140.14.14 - Blocks ads at DNS level
- OpenDNS: 208.67.222.222 - Family-friendly options
- NextDNS: 45.90.28.0 - Customizable filtering
- Control D: 76.76.2.0 - Privacy + ad blocking
DNS over HTTPS (DoH)
Encrypt your DNS queries to prevent ISP snooping and man-in-the-middle attacks.
How It Works
- DNS queries are sent over HTTPS instead of plain UDP
- Your ISP cannot see which domains you're looking up
- Prevents DNS spoofing attacks
- Slight latency increase (usually negligible)
Supported DoH Providers
| Provider | IP Address | Focus |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | 1.1.1.1 | Speed & Privacy |

DNS Blocking
Block domains at the DNS level before they even load. This is in addition to the regular ad/tracker blocking.
- Default: Off
- Effect: Blocked domains return no IP, preventing connection
- Advantage: More efficient than blocking after page load
- Use with: AdGuard or NextDNS for best results
Settings Summary
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| DNS Provider | System | Which DNS server to use for lookups |
