WARP Integration
WARP is Cloudflare's secure internet service that encrypts your connection using their global network. Stealth integrates WARP as an alternative or complement to VPN, leveraging Cloudflare's massive infrastructure for fast, secure browsing.
What WARP Provides
WARP routes your traffic through Cloudflare's network using the WireGuard protocol, the same fast, modern protocol used by Stealth's VPN. Key benefits include:
Performance optimization. Cloudflare operates one of the world's largest networks. WARP often improves performance for sites already on Cloudflare (a significant portion of the internet).
DNS privacy. All DNS queries are handled by Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 resolver, encrypted and protected from ISP logging.
Encrypted routing. All traffic is encrypted through Cloudflare's network using the WireGuard protocol.
WARP vs VPN
WARP and VPN serve similar purposes but have different characteristics:
| Stealth VPN | WARP | |
| IP masking | Full - new IP from VPN server | Partial - may preserve geolocation |
| Speed | Excellent | Often faster, especially for Cloudflare sites |
| Privacy policy | Stealth's no-log policy | Cloudflare's privacy policy |
| Server selection | Automatic (optimal server) | Automatic (nearest) |
When to Use WARP
Speed priority. When you need security but maximum speed is critical, WARP's proximity-based routing often wins.
Cloudflare-heavy browsing. Many websites use Cloudflare. WARP's direct connection to Cloudflare's network can improve load times for these sites.
Simple encryption. When you want encrypted browsing with automatic server selection.
As a backup. If VPN servers are experiencing issues, WARP provides reliable fallback protection.
Enabling WARP
- Open Settings → Security
- Toggle WARP to On
- Wait for connection to establish
WARP can run alongside VPN or independently. When both are active, traffic flows through VPN first, then WARP, providing double encryption through different networks.
WARP Configuration
Stealth automatically configures WARP for optimal performance. When VPN is active, WARP runs in tunnel-only mode to avoid conflicts. When VPN is inactive, WARP uses standard mode for full encryption.
WARP provides encrypted traffic routing through Cloudflare's network, offering a good balance of speed and security. The service automatically selects the nearest Cloudflare endpoint for optimal performance.
Using VPN and WARP Together
Running both VPN and WARP creates a layered connection:
- Your traffic is encrypted by WARP
- WARP traffic is encrypted again by VPN
- VPN traffic exits from Stealth's server
This provides defense in depth. If either service were compromised, the other layer maintains protection. The performance impact is modest since both use efficient WireGuard encryption.
Troubleshooting
If WARP won't connect:
- Ensure VPN is connected first (if using both)
- Try disabling and re-enabling WARP
- Check that Cloudflare services aren't blocked on your network
- Restart Stealth
If speeds are unexpectedly slow with WARP, try using VPN alone. Some networks may route WARP traffic inefficiently.
